Started in 1978, when Mr. K. Ameenur Rahman, a leather technologist of repute, started units to make finished leather and shoe uppers, the KAR Group has grown exponentially. The experience gained from being in the business for more than two decades, in addition to the able management of the second-generation managers: K. Shahid Mansoor, K. Mohamed Akmal and K. Ehsan Ahmed, has seen the group emerge as a leading conglomerate in leather, with an annual turnover of $50 million. The group has six units currently engaged in activities ranging from leather processing to producing finished leather products.
